Make this beautiful hat and learn to knit mini cables from a chart!

Note: this class has homework to be completed before the class starts! See below for instructions.

You will learn how to: make left and right leaning cables with and without a cable needle, read a chart.

You should already know how to: cast on, knit, purl, work in a rib pattern, work in the round, decrease for a hat (using double pointed needles or magic loop).

Required materials: 150-170 yards of a DK weight yarn, US 6 (4 mm) 16" circulars & double points or 24–32" circulars for magic loop, cable needle, a stitch marker, and the pattern (available in the shop or on Ravelry for $6).

Recommended materials: highlighter tape.

SIGN UP by booking time in our Thursday Evening Workshop or Tuesday Morning Workshop. These classes are for anyone learning any knitting or crocheting technique, so you will be among students learning all sorts of things! We recommend signing up for 1 hour to learn all of the techniques above.

Homework:

  1. Cast on 120 stitches, place marker, and join to work in the round. 
  2. K1, p1, (k2, p1) to last st, k1.
  3. Repeat step 2 nine more times.
