Learn to weave weft facing patterns and make a set of patterned coasters in this playful workshop! There are an infinite amount of patterns to experiment with, and Cleo will teach you the basics plus lots of tips to keep going after class.

You will learn how to: change colors, weave several different weft faced patterns with two or three colors, and keep edges consistent.
You should already know how to:warp your loom, weave in plain weave, and hemstitch.
Required materials (*to make eight 4.5" x 4.5" coasters with 0.75" fringe): about 130 yards of sport or fingering weight cotton for warp/fringe, about 200 yards total (in at least two colors) of a sport or dk weight cotton for weft, an 8-dent heddle, a small yarn comb/beater, a darning needle, and small scissors. You must have your own table or rigid heddle loom to take this class.
*other weft faced project options are available (placemats, table runners, etc.) but your required yardage will change. Come into the shop for a consultation!
SIGN UP by booking time in our Thursday Evening Workshop or Tuesday Morning Workshop. These classes are for anyone learning any knitting, crocheting, or rigid heddle weaving technique, so you will be among students learning all sorts of things! We recommend signing up for 1–2 hours to learn all of the techniques above.
Homework:warp your loom with 40 ends and about 65" of warp yarn at 8 ends per inch.
